“I was only recently introduced to Christie Yachts when I was desperately searching for a quality 50m yacht, less than 5 years of age. Will hunted down two completely off-market yachts and I ended up buying one of them. I am very happy with the outcome. He did not stop with the presentation of the yacht. He really fought hard and represented my interests extremely well. He followed the deal with great precision and management until the yacht was signed and delivered. My lawyer from a very renowned law firm specialising in yacht transactions, did tell me from the outset that “Will is the best yacht broker.” I must agree.”

REPRESENTING YOUR INTERESTS

It’s a confusing market place for buyers with such a large number of yachts for sale, presented in many different forums. Trawling through all this and making sense of it can be a real challenge for prospective buyers. With yachts, a few similarities can disguise a world of difference in quality and value. Style over substance is all too common.

Many of the best yachts are only offered off-market. Using extensive industry contacts and market knowledge, we shortlist the yachts, both privately and publicly for sale, that meet your requirements, saving you valuable time.

This gives you one point of contact for the entire purchase journey, simplifying the process and helping you avoid yachts that simply are not suitable.

Our advice is honest, transparent and impartial.

from first interest to first cruise

At Christie Yachts, we start not with the boat but with the basics:

  • What are you hoping to gain from owning a yacht?

  • What are your requirements and expectations?

  • Where and when do you want to go on your yacht, what do you want to do when you get there – and with whom?

From this conversation, we can establish what kind of yacht will best meet your expectations. Very often, this process throws up ideas and possibilities you had never even considered.

The next stage is to draw up a shortlist of suitable options based on your requirements. This is where both our experience and having us as your one point of contact, acting for you throughout the process, become invaluable.

Often, there is a significant gap between asking prices and final selling prices. We know what a fair price is.

You’ll be armed with the information and knowledge to make a decision with confidence.

securing THE best deal

Negotiating a price and purchase terms as a buyer can be protracted and complicated, involving strong personalities that requires skilful, delicate handling. Our 20 years’ experience means we’re well positioned to handle all aspects of negotiations, ensuring you understand true market value before making any decision to buy.

Once the price is agreed, our team will help coordinate the necessary due diligence, working with the world’s leading marine surveyors and specialist lawyers – people we know well and trust.

We also delve deep into the boat’s maintenance history and any short-to medium-term future works that may be required, which will have a great bearing on its value.

Once contracts are signed, as an owner you will want to have everything in place to enjoy your new yacht immediately.

Christie Yachts can help you appoint the right Captain, who in turn will build up a crew around them. Many owners will want operational support, or choose to charter their yacht to offset running costs. Again, we are well placed to introduce the right parties to make the transition into yacht ownership seamless and easy.

As with every aspect of our business, it is not a one-size-fits-all approach. We will bring in the right suppliers to match the yacht, the owner and the planned operation of the vessel. We always take a bespoke approach to each client to ensure their best interests and expectations are met.
